Biography

Christine Carron is Senior Counsel at LLT. For over thirty-five years, she practiced at one of Canada’s most prestigious national law firms, including as a Senior Partner. Her career has been distinguished by a remarkable practice in commercial litigation and class actions, as well as a sustained commitment to access to justice in Quebec. A member of the Canadian Bar Association, Quebec Branch, since 1979, she built a leading practice in commercial and corporate litigation, notably representing financial institutions and public corporations in class action matters. She has also been deeply involved in privacy law and corporate governance. Her contribution to advancing access to justice was established throughout her career. On September 25, 2008, she participated in the creation of Pro Bono Québec (now Justice Pro Bono), an initiative of the Barreau du Québec. She served sequentially as Secretary and Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors before assuming the Presidency from 2018 to 2022. During this period, she also chaired her firm's national committee on pro bono legal services. In recognition of this commitment, she was named Litigator of the Year in 2014 by Le Monde juridique magazine and received the Rajpattie-Persaud Pro Bono Award from the Canadian Bar Association, Quebec Branch, presented to a member who has distinguished themselves through exceptional contributions to community well-being. She holds the distinction of Advocate Emeritus (Ad. E.) and is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers—an invitation-only honor awarded following peer review to North America's most experienced litigators. In 2009, she received the Lexpert Zenith Award, recognized as one of Canada's top 25 female lawyers, and was the sole recipient from Quebec that year. She holds a Bachelor of Civil Law (B.C.L.) and a Master’s degree (M.A.) from McGill University, as well as a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan. Since joining LLT, Christine brings her proven expertise in class actions and commercial litigation to the firm, where her reputation helps secure top-tier institutional clients. She also advises the firm on governance matters while serving as a mentor to team members.
